The Lighted Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Livemore Lions Club, has been a big event in Livermore since 1989. It is held annually on the second Saturday of December and this year will be on December 10, 2022. It is a free event and there is no registration fee for any entries in the parade. The only requirement is that the entry be lighted. The floats are judged, and monetary prizes will be awarded to 1st through 4th place winners. The open category of lighted entries, including golf carts, will also have monetary prizes awarded for 1st through 3rd place winners. Parade participants assemble at 4:00 pm in the Livermore Elementary School parking lot on Main Street and the parade kicks off at 5:00 pm.
On the 11th day of the 11th month at 11 AM, a Veterans Day Celebration will be sponsored by the Livermore Veterans Memorial Committee at the Livermore Riverfront Park. All are welcome to come and celebrate our Veterans.
July 4, 2022 was a day to celebrate. And Livermore did! The heat and humidity rivaled anything we’ve had in recent memory, but that did not slow down the crowds.
The Livermore Lions Club judged the decorated bicycles. The 1st place winner was Cassie Woosley and the 2nd place winner was Nathan Durbin. The Lions Club also judged the decorated golf carts and the 1st place winner was Tammy Richards and the 2nd place winner was Van Ashton & family.
At 5:00 the food booths (Woman’s Club, Livermore Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Refuge Church, Cool Bus, Clucks & Pups, and Price Ice Baby) opened and at 6:30 there was a watermelon eating contest for adults and children, sponsored by Independence Bank.
The music was provided by "Loose Wheel", a Country, Blues, & Southern Rock & Roll band and was sponsored by Ace Hardware and B.F. Evans Ford. Once the music started so did the street dancing! Independence Bank also sponsored the bingo games and finally, what everyone was waiting for, the fireworks which started at 9:00 pm and which were spectacular.
Thanks to all of our local volunteers, vendors, sponsors, Loose Wheel, the Livermore Volunteer Fire Department, and all who helped in the clean-up process at the end of the night. It was a "COOL" Celebration!
